After-church conversations at the best coffee shop in town.

March 5, 2011

A snap decision to take a long walk on the beach with Norah.  Deep breaths, lazy conversation, shimmering grass, the faint sound of the trickling water that has broken free from its frozen prison.  I live for afternoons like these.

February 28, 2011

I finally got my computer back after a week.  Yeah, that's why it's taken me so long to get all my posts up.

February 27, 2011

Miles of forest, Norah, and an ever-present sun.  Love these kinds of road trips back to school.

February 26, 2011

Pool for hours on end with some of my favorite people in the world.  I've been waiting weeks for times like this!

February 25, 2011

Home!  Hanging out at Dave's with some spicy red wine and Into the Wild.  The long drive back was so worth it.

February 24, 2011

Lauren and I dominated the crossword puzzle today.  It's probably the farthest we've ever gotten on it.

February 23, 2011

Trimming a pot for the first time:  every perfectionist's nightmare.  Staring at spinning objects is definitely not a favored pastime.

February 22, 2011

After three different visits to the ceramics room and two patient teachers, I finally made my first cylinder last night.  Yeah, I'm pretty stoked.  I had to check on it today to make sure it was for real.

February 21, 2011

My abstract painting finally turned into something that I could at least look at without cringing.

February 20, 2011

Today I played racquetball for the first time with Brian.  And fell in love with it.

February 19, 2011

Another great Saturday night:  Making chocolate espresso cupcakes, drinking coffee, and playing Monopoly Draw continuously with Norah and Rachel.  I'm really going to miss them next year.

February 18, 2011

Joined a campus-wide walk-out to protest Walker's budget-repair bill on the steps of city hall.  The political, passionate side of me definitely came out over the noon hour.

February 17, 2011

My fortune cookie told me that I am not a person who can be ignored.  I'm still trying to figure out if that's a good thing.

February 16, 2011

That's a lot of slides I need to know for my modern art history slide test tomorrow.  Shoot.

February 13, 2011

My blog is in trouble!
My camera died on me yesterday and I can't find the charger anywhere here--I think it's at home.  Sorry guys!
I'm going to take a break from the picture-taking for about a week while I locate the necessary pieces of technology.  But don't worry, I'll be back.

February 12, 2011

It was a perfect day to explore state parks.  Sorry this picture isn't more creatively taken--my camera died on me before I got any cool shots!

February 11, 2011

I'm thinking that drawing on my hand should be a German-class-on-Friday tradition.  It has been for the past three weeks.

February 10, 2011

First time throwing on the wheel in years--and everything I tried making ended up in that plastic trash bin!  I don't know why I've neglected to do something I love for so long, but that changes today.

February 9, 2011

Mancala under florescent lights at 11 o'clock at night.  I don't think work gets better than this.

February 7, 2011

Not being able to fall asleep at 5 a.m. means that I might as well get a base coat on my canvas.

February 6, 2011

Enough said.  I don't think I'm going to have a voice tomorrow, that's for sure.

February 5, 2011

Coffee, Lauren, and a Scandinavian Cafe.  The best Saturday night in a long time.

February 3, 2011

I think I'm becoming addicted to mornings.  I woke up at six to do my laundry today.  There's something serene about feeling like you're the only one in the world(at least in my dorm) who is awake.

February 2, 2011

My Multi-Modal Art Therapy Class this semester has made me more introspective than I've ever been--who knew that could happen?  There is so much power and fear behind all this vulnerability.  Today's assignment:  creating the good and bad sides of yourself on a piece of paper and then writing about it.

February 1, 2011

The best way to today:  waking up slowly drinking earl grey and mango tea combinations.  Perfect.
